Pomona-ɬ﷬ Lacrosse Wins SCIAC Championships

The Pomona-ɬ﷬ lacrosse team earned a 24–2 victory over California Lutheran to claim the SCIAC Regular Season Championship on April 27. The Sagehens soon followed with a dominant 18–8 victory over Claremont-Mudd-Scripps to win their third straight SCIAC Tournament Championship title on May 4.

SCIAC Regular Season Championship

The Sagehens celebrated senior day in the regular season finale by ending with a perfect 12–0 conference record and a 15–1 overall record.

The Sagehens offense featured 17 different goal scorers, including Tessa Stewart’s PO’24 first career goal. ɬ﷬’s Sydney Landauer ’25 led the team in goals with four, and Grace Warner ’24 led the team in points with seven, scoring two goals while dishing out five assists.

SCIAC Tournament Championship

The Sagehens and Athenas squared off for the third time this season with the 2024 SCIAC Tournament Championship title on the line.

River Buechner PO’26 was named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player after leading the team with four goals, five ground balls, seven draw controls, and one caused turnover. Hannah Gough PO’25 and Fiona Lewis PO’25 both recorded hat tricks in the win with Landauer and Shoshi Henderson PO’25 both earning four points.

With the victory, the Sagehens earn the automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Women’s Lacrosse Tournament, riding an eight-game win streak with a 17–1 overall record.

The Pomona-ɬ﷬ lacrosse team also recently earned nine All-SCIAC honors highlighted by Carly Sullivan ’24, who earned SCIAC Defensive Player of the Year. Landauer was named a First Team All-SCIAC selection, while Warner and Ruby Loesch ’26 had Second Team selections.
